Disclaimer

Valid markup makes a page eligible for rich results; it doesn't guarantee them, and Google decides when to show them. Markup must describe content that's visible on the page. FAQ rich results are limited to authoritative government and health websites, and How-To rich results are no longer shown. Generated code is provided as-is: review it and test it before publishing.

Privacy: URLs you check are fetched once to produce the result and aren't stored.

How to use the schema generator

  1. Choose a type from the dropdown. The form changes to that type's fields.
  2. Fill in the fields. Required fields are needed for rich-result eligibility; recommended ones improve it.
  3. Copy the JSON-LD and paste it into the page's <head> or body inside a <script type="application/ld+json"> tag.
  4. Test it with Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema.org validator (links next to the code).

FAQ schema generator

FAQ rich results are now shown only for well-known authoritative government and health websites. FAQPage markup is still valid and helps machines (including AI tools) understand question-and-answer content, but don't expect the expandable FAQ snippet for most business sites. Only mark up questions and answers that are visible on the page.

Local business schema generator

Use the most specific LocalBusiness subtype available (for example Dentist, LegalService or ProfessionalService). Include the full address, phone number and opening hours, and make sure they match your Google Business Profile exactly. Consistency across the web is what search engines and AI assistants check.

Organization schema generator

Add your legal name, logo URL, website, and a sameAs list of your official profiles (LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Wikipedia or Wikidata if you have them). That list is one of the strongest ways to tell search engines and AI systems which profiles belong to you.

Article, Product and other types

  • Article: include the headline, author (as a Person with a URL), publish and modified dates, and a main image.
  • Product: price, currency and availability must match the page. Add review data only if reviews are genuine and visible.
  • Breadcrumb: the items should match the breadcrumb trail users see.

Where to add the code

  • Next.js / React: render a <script type="application/ld+json"> tag on the server for each page.
  • WordPress: use your SEO plugin's schema settings, or a custom HTML block for one-off pages.
  • Shopify: most themes include Product schema; add Organization in the theme layout.
  • Google Tag Manager: works, but Google must render JavaScript to see it, and some other tools won't. Server-side is better.

Schema also helps AI search: clear, consistent facts are easier to quote. See my GEO consulting page for how structured data fits into AI visibility work.

FAQ

Schema Markup Generator: common questions

Short answers to what people ask most about this tool and topic.

Google supports both, but recommends JSON-LD because it's separate from your HTML and easier to maintain. This generator outputs JSON-LD.

Structured data isn't a direct ranking factor. It helps search engines understand the page and can make it eligible for rich results, which may improve click-through rate.

Yes. Either add separate JSON-LD blocks, or combine them in one block with an @graph array, linking them with @id references (for example a WebPage that's about an Organization).

Since 2023, Google shows FAQ rich results only for well-known authoritative government and health websites. The markup can still be valid, which you can confirm in the Rich Results Test.

Add Organization (or Person) and WebSite once, typically site-wide, then page-specific types where they fit: Article on posts, Product on products, BreadcrumbList on most pages.
