OUTCOMES

The results

Direct commercial and organic search impact delivered during the engagement.

25 → 1

Ranking for a core category keyword over two months.

2

New keywords started ranking.

Consistent backlink acquisition improved brand visibility in the category.

BACKGROUND

The challenge

I led this off-page campaign in a previous agency leadership role. The platform needed better keyword rankings and stronger brand presence in a crowded SaaS category.

In competitive SaaS categories, on-page work is often already at parity, so authority from relevant sites becomes the deciding factor.

EXECUTION

What we did

01

Competitor gap analysis

Analysed competitors' backlink profiles to find link opportunities they were using.

02

Authority-led acquisition

Ran backlink acquisition campaigns prioritising SaaS and technology authority sites.

03

Contextual brand mentions

Created brand mentions with contextual internal links.

04

Aligned to keyword plan

Aligned brand mentions with the keyword-growth strategy.

STRATEGIC LESSON

The takeaway

Links from sites the category's buyers already read carry relevance as well as authority, which is why targeted placements move rankings faster than volume.
