DATA
The numbers
BACKGROUND
The challenge
I led this engagement in a previous agency leadership role. The company needed more organic traffic and engagement in India and the GCC, particularly to its blog and destination pages.
The plan was to build on content that was already working and to make the whole site faster, rather than publish volume for its own sake.
Client and agency not named for confidentiality. I led the strategy; the work was delivered with my team at the time.
EXECUTION
What we did
Refreshing high performers
Identified high-performing blog topics, such as working abroad and pet-friendly destinations, and optimised those posts.
Page speed on a new CMS
Improved page speed and Core Web Vitals, using a new CMS to lift overall site performance.
Content analysis
Analysed content in depth to improve its relevance and performance.
Destination pages
Optimised destination pages, using positive keyword trends to grow their traffic.
Local search in the GCC
Optimised the local search strategy for the GCC, including Web Stories, improving their CTR, clicks and impressions.
STRATEGIC LESSON
The takeaway
Refreshing posts that already earn traffic is usually faster than publishing new ones — the page has history, and the update gives it a reason to climb.
